dxᵢ/dt = β·xᵢ(t−τ) / (1 + xᵢ(t−τ)ⁿ) − γ·xᵢ(t) + κ · meanj→i( xⱼ(t − dji) − xᵢ(t) )
Each glossy tube is one oscillator's delay embedding, x(t) · x(t−τ) · x(t−2τ): the Mackey-Glass strange attractor
(β 0.2, γ 0.1, n 10). Every link j→i has its own delay dji; its rail carries j's own past, so each spike travels it as a pulse
and arrives exactly dji later; the arrowheads point at the receiver. Colour is local agreement: gold in sync, cyan and violet in chaos,
one crown of each in a chimera. The floor is the correlation matrix; the two arcs in front are the autocorrelation (outer, peaks at ±τ) and the
cross-correlation over the selected node's links (inner, ticks at their delays).
With music, the drops lock the network into sync (κ up), the breakdowns release it into chaos; the bass stretches τ and every kick
perturbs one node. Tap a node to select it and edit its links.
The Mackey-Glass equation was written for blood-cell production; delay-coupled networks of it are used to
study semiconductor lasers and markets. The equations here are integrated with RK4 (dt 0.1) over per-oscillator history buffers.
